In-Home Caregiver Services Fit Naturally with Company DEI Initiatives

Equity at work can be achieved with services to match the needs of your employees.

Company benefits in 2023 matter. Employers are in a pinch to do more with less but must recognize the importance of their workforce. Employees are more mobile despite a down economy and seek labor environments that sustain them financially and foster diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Home assistant care as part of a corporate DEI strategy is an ideal match for employers and their vendors alike.

Slow Growth

DEI commitments in the workplace have been steadily growing. But for many, the growth has been tepid. For example, according to the 2022 Workplace DEI Report by Culture Amp, 81% of human resource leaders felt DEI initiatives benefit their companies. Yet, only 34% of those who responded indicated they had enough resources (financial or otherwise) to support them.

We know employees seek equity at work, and many are caring for or financing the care of a loved one. This is difficult work, especially if the person has a family or other commitments. America is aging, and there are no signs of a reversal on the horizon. Companionship home care is a benefit that is timely and urgently needed.

How to Incorporate Home Assistant Care

While resources are needed for the implementation of any new program, in-home private caregiving is one of the more cost-effective. Workplace burnout is a constant challenge. The American Psychological Association’s “2022 Trends-report” found approximately 80% of employees were recently undergoing workplace stress and 60% reported observable negative effects.

Inclusive workplaces where employees are treated equitably reduce burnout and foster a more positive culture. Home assistant care can be easily integrated into new or ongoing DEI programming with the goal of reducing stress levels and tackling workplace burnout.

It is well documented that those who care (and finance that care) for a loved one at home have greater worries than those who do not. Companionship home care can be seamlessly integrated via a third-party service as part of any benefits package.

Why Vendors Need DEI Initiatives with Assistance Homecare

Company vendors, especially long-term vendor partners, are tightly associated with many companies. As such, ensuring that they too have DEI initiatives in place that coincide with your company’s initiatives is critical. If home assistant care is something your company chooses to integrate into your current DEI framework, encourage your vendors to do the same. Most companies and their vendors are tightly linked and an aligned strategy is smart business for all parties.

DEI initiatives help to foster constructive working environments that consider and value our inherent uniqueness. Companionship home care benefits packages place a premium on alleviating stress and further incorporating employees into the company culture. This is a crucial benefit in 2023.
